Ryan Buckland
Ryan began his training at Silver Trowel in March 2008, before this, Ryan had been living in Australia for a year after coming over from England and was working as a music teacher. When Ryan decided upon a career change he enrolled with Silver Trowel in Certificate III in Brick/blocklaying as it would provide him with a skill for a strong growth industry in Australia.
Ryan’s memories of his time training with Silver Trowel are the quality of the lecturers and how they were always willing to help the students and teaching them to take pride in the work that they do. He says that the on-site experience he gained while studying was extremely valuable and although it was hard work at the time, he has come to realise that it was all worth it.
Since finishing his training with Silver Trowel, Ryan has worked continuously for almost a year as a bricklayer. In the last two months he has started his own business, employing 2 staff and employing international students from Silver Trowel. He is glad that he has done his training as he believes it has given him the confidence to do any job correctly.

I have finished my Certificate III – Wall & Floor Tiling and am now studying my Certificate IV in Frontline Management. The Student Placement Officer has found me work in the tiling industry which has helped me in the TRA process. I recommend Silver Trowel to anyone who is looking at learning a Trade.
