Silver Trowel Trade Training offers skills assessments for those people wishing to have their trade experience recognised. You must have a minimum of four years experience working within your trade area. We currently are able to assess people in the following trade areas:

Certificate III in Bricklaying / Blocklaying

RPL1

Stage 1:

The skills assessment consists of an application package in which you must provide evidence of your trade skills; employment history; work related training; etc. Evidence is mapped against the Elements and Performance Criteria directly from the National Training Package. Suggested forms of evidence include:

  • A current resume/CV
  • Job description
  • Certificates/transcripts listing same/similar units completed previously
  • Letters of support from Managers/Supervisors confirming your job role

Stage 2:

If you have been able to provide enough documentation to suggest you would be successful in passing a practical assessment, a time will be arranged. These assessments consist of a practical assessment whereby you are required to complete specific tasks and answer questions related to your trade area and will usually take 2-3 days to complete. They will incorporate various tasks expected of a Third Year Apprentice—an you will be required to complete to the standard of a Third Year Apprentice.

The total cost of our skills assessment is $2000. We require an initial payment of $500 to receive the pre-assessment pack, and the remaining $1500 must be paid prior to booking a practical assessment.

This price is for onshore assessments, for international candidates only.
